Canada Benefit Payment Dates: 2026 Calendar by Month

Federal benefit payment dates follow a steady rhythm in 2026. The Canada child benefit (CCB) arrives around the 20th of each month, the Canada Pension Plan (CPP) and Old Age Security (OAS) near the end of the month, and the Canada Groceries and Essentials Benefit four times a year. This page lists every date the Government of Canada has published, as of October 20, 2026, with the provincial payments the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) sends on top.
All dates come from the official Canada.ca benefits calendar and the CRA's own payment schedule. As of October 20, 2026, neither had posted any 2027 dates. For the rules behind each credit, see our taxes hub, and for pension planning, our retirement hub.
Here is every payment still to come between October 20 and December 31, 2026, in date order. The December dates come earlier than usual because of the holidays.

The CRA pays the CCB every month, usually on the 20th, to families who care for children under 18. For July 2026 to June 2027, the maximum is $8,157 a year for a child under 6 and $6,883 for a child aged 6 to 17. If your total benefit for the year is less than $240, the CRA pays it all in one lump sum with the July payment instead.
Service Canada pays the CPP and OAS on the same day each month, a few business days before month-end. The CPP date covers the retirement pension and the disability, children's, and survivor benefits. Likewise, the OAS date includes the Guaranteed Income Supplement, the Allowance, and the Allowance for the Survivor. If you live in Quebec, the Quebec Pension Plan replaces the CPP, and Retraite Québec sets its own dates.
This quarterly payment replaced the GST/HST credit in July 2026. The CRA paid it on July 3 and October 5, 2026, after the last two GST/HST credit payments on January 5 and April 2, 2026. As of October 20, 2026, the CRA had not posted the January 2027 date. Our guide to the Canada Groceries and Essentials Benefit covers the amounts and eligibility.
The advanced Canada workers benefit (ACWB) pays part of your Canada workers benefit before you file your return. According to the CRA, you can get up to 50% of your expected benefit in three advance payments. In 2026, those payments went out on January 12, July 10, and October 9. You receive the rest, if any, when you file your tax return.
Service Canada pays the Canada Disability Benefit monthly, on a Thursday in the third week of the month. The remaining 2026 dates are November 19 and December 17. The benefit is separate from the disability tax credit, which you claim on your return. Our guide on how much the disability tax credit is worth explains that side.
The CRA also pays several provincial and territorial programs. Some arrive with your CCB or Canada Groceries and Essentials Benefit, while others have their own dates. These are the separate schedules the federal calendar lists for 2026:
Retraite Québec, not the CRA, pays Quebec's own family and pension benefits. It paid the Allocation famille on January 5, April 1, July 2, and October 1, 2026, unless you asked for monthly payments. For the Quebec Pension Plan retirement pension, the remaining 2026 dates are October 30, November 30, and December 30.
As of October 20, 2026, the Canada.ca calendar listed only 2025 and 2026 dates. The CRA's own payment dates page, updated on October 14, 2026, showed no 2027 dates either. We will update this page once the CRA and Service Canada publish their 2027 schedules.
Meanwhile, you can see your own next payment date in your online account. Use your CRA account for the CCB, the Canada Groceries and Essentials Benefit, and the ACWB. Use your My Service Canada Account for the CPP, the OAS, and the Canada Disability Benefit.
Payments are issued on the listed dates, but they can take a few days to reach your account. The federal calendar asks you to wait 5 to 10 business days before contacting the program. For the CCB specifically, the CRA asks you to wait 5 business days.
Before you call, check these points:
Most federal benefits now follow a predictable pattern: the CCB around the 20th, CPP and OAS near month-end, and quarterly payments in January, April, July, and October. The last 2026 dates are December 11 for the CCB and December 22 for CPP and OAS. Since 2027 dates were not posted as of October 20, 2026, check your online account before the new year.

After the October 20, 2026 payment, the next CCB payments arrive on November 20 and December 11, 2026. The CRA had not posted its 2027 dates as of October 20, 2026. Payments include related provincial and territorial programs where they apply. For the rules on income and eligibility, see our taxes hub.
Service Canada pays both on November 26 and December 22, 2026. CPP and OAS always share the same payment date. The December date is earlier than usual because of the holidays. If you live in Quebec, your Quebec Pension Plan payment comes from Retraite Québec on November 30 and December 30, 2026. Our retirement hub covers pension planning.
The GST/HST credit became the Canada Groceries and Essentials Benefit in July 2026. Its last 2026 payment went out on October 5. The next one is due in January 2027, but the CRA had not posted the exact date as of October 20, 2026. Our Canada Groceries and Essentials Benefit guide has the amounts.
No. The Canada.ca calendar lists the Canada Carbon Rebate as closed, with its last payment on April 22, 2025. No carbon rebate payments appear in the 2026 schedule. Quarterly payments in 2026 come from the Canada Groceries and Essentials Benefit and related provincial programs. See our taxes hub for the credits still in place.
A deposit can take a few days to reach your account, and mailed cheques take longer. Wait 5 to 10 business days, as the federal calendar advises, then check your online account. Common causes include an unfiled tax return, outdated banking details, or a recent change in marital status. Our guide on how to file taxes in Canada helps with the first one.
It depends on the benefit. The CRA calculates the Canada Groceries and Essentials Benefit automatically from your tax return, so you don't apply for it separately. The CCB, CPP, OAS, and Canada Disability Benefit require an application or enrolment. Filing your return every year keeps most of them coming.
